Monday I received the WORLD’S CUTEST PHOTOS of Jacob graduating Pre-K. And I died inside just a little, y’all. I mean. These pictures.
It’s like when they give me the picture note from school saying ‘please select the pictures you want to buy’ and I’m like… JUST TAKE MY MONEY. GIMME ALL THE PICTURES. Because how do I NOT buy a single one of these? I have a feeling when he turns 18 that I’ll be clinging onto these and crying in my bedroom while I pet my new puppy dog that I’ve bought to fill the gaping hole in my heart…
And speaking of puppies…
Sonia saw this stray puppy at the front door of our office. She looked like she was starving, but she was terrified and wouldn’t come near us. So she set out some food and water, and we waited.
By lunchtime, Sonia had a new best friend! (Seriously, this picture captures everything I love about Sonia, she has the biggest heart.)
By the end of the day, she went from terrified to everyone’s best friend! We took her to the shelter and they told us she was chipped, so they called the owner. The owner never responded, so we’re pretty sure she was ditched in the neighborhood by our office. 🙁
On Friday, Jacob’s school hosted a Mother’s Day event so I got to go and see all the great stuff he’d made for me. 🙂
My favorite part was his responses to the teacher’s questions. I love our time at Target too, kiddo! hahaha (and he totally got my favorite color right!)
He even made me a butterfly magnet!
I started pulling old blueprints of our lakehouse out, because we’re converting our garage into a man-cave storage area! I can’t wait, this will make our house SO much more functional for our family.
Friday night it was Dress Rehearsal for Gigi’s ballet school recital, and frankly, it was a mess. No one was in charge, and everyone was out of order. So… I kind of took over and ended up running the entire rehearsal. Because I’m so #bossy. (I swear, taking over is just who I am.)
Meanwhile, the entire week I’ve also been packing to leave on our Baughman Family Cruise! I love that I still use the luggage that my Grandma and Grandpa Larsen bought me for Christmas when I was 18. Other than one broken zipper (zipper still works, it’s just missing the ‘pull’ part), it’s still in great shape almost 17 years later!
But since we’ve grown our family, we haven’t grown our luggage too, so it was time for one more new suitcase to fit the kid’s stuff. I headed to Marshalls, because they have the BEST inexpensive suitcases. (And yes, I’m wearing Christmas pajama pants in May. Don’t judge me.)
Have you used packing cubes before? My dad just swears by them so I finally bought some for this trip, and they really were awesome! Super helpful for keeping socks/underwear/swim clothes together for each person in a large suitcase. And GREAT for a cruise, because you can just stack them in the very tiny closet space – but I’ll show you that later!
But because my life is NUTS sometimes, Saturday morning packing had to wait – it was time for Gigi’s Recital! I arrived really early to start getting things (including Gigi) ready.
And that’s Keegan and Catherine’s little girl in the rainbow costume!
They did ballet first (Gigi is front left)…
And then jazz!
We went outside to take a few pictures, and Gigi LOVES to pose for the camera. Seriously, it’s a gift.
She was delighted to see that Grandma and Grandpa had made it to her show! AND they brought flowers!
Of course, daddy brought flowers for his little ballerina, too.
We’ll just say she didn’t mind the attention one bit…
On Sunday morning we had very important things to tend to… like MANI/PEDI’s! #beachworthyfeet
That afternoon, we picked up a new desk for Tim, our new employee, since he’s going to be working in the office upstairs at the office.
And that’s our week! May is so busy!
